Not only is the Assistance League of Bend active in caring for the youth of our community but its members also work to enhance the lives of the elderly and often forgotten within our community.

Working with the Senior Resident Facilities in Bend the major needs of the residents were assessed. Our committee now provides, three times a year, baskets of necessary hygiene items to those unable to acquire these products on their own. This has proven to be a very successful program.

Lest we forget the spirits of the residents, the Senior Caring Committee has great fun in coming up with ideas and making decorative holiday items for the Resident Facilities. The committee has made baskets for May Day, flag centerpieces for the Fourth of July, fall floral pieces for Thanksgiving, handmade valentines for Valentine’s Day, and much more. All of our decorative efforts are met with great success at the Senior Facilities.
