Update: Since June, 2012 we have delivered 1,140 hats. Due to the cold weather we had requests for more fleece hats. Thank you to everyone who stepped up and made fleece hats. Also, thank you to who ever made the crocheted flowers for the hats. We have completed 60 gowns. The next gown meeting date is February 13 from 10:00 to 12:00. If you have any

Update: I went to the Chapter House this morning (January 22) and there were several stacks of sewn fleece hats. Someone had also crocheted flowers and sewed them on all the fleece hats that were there. They are darling! Thank you so much for the lady or ladies who did this. You are angels. I was feeling a little anxious as we were almost out of fleece hats. You amazing ladies
always come through for me and have never let me down. I am proud to have you all on my committee!

Assistance League of Bend has a dedicated, caring and creative group of women who meet twice monthly to cut, sew and knit a variety of hats for cancer patients. Trendy as well as traditional hats or head coverings are created for the various seasons as well as for nighttime wear. Last year alone, 1,481 hats were delivered to St. Charles Hospital in Bend, the Bend Memorial Clinic as well as the St. Charles Cancer Center.
