Assistance League of Bend spent 59% of its revenue on philanthropic programs during fiscal year 2011-12. This impressive return to the city of Bend and Deschutes County was accomplished by our all-volunteer membership’s donation of 17,998 service hours with an estimated value of $394,865 Our philanthropic expenditures increased by $24,445 over the prior year. Assistance League is committed to using the funds entrusted to us to fulfill its mission as a public charity.
Support and Revenue
Generous contributions and grants provided 59% of the support for Assistance League during fiscal year 2011-12. Members of the community supported our efforts by attending our fundraising events. Together these events provided $99,182 to support our programs. Additional funds were provided by program services, membership, and investment income. Thank you to our loyal donors for providing the funding to support the philanthropic activities of Assistance League.
Ending Net Assets
Net assets of Assistance League, defined as total assets less liabilities, totaled $613,044 at May 31, 2012. This was an increase of $40,221 from the previous year end. The assets of Assistance League consist of land, building, improvements, furniture and equipment as well as cash investments, prepaid expenses, and inventories. The liabilities are mortgage payable, accounts payable and deferred revenues.
